When switching the display settings, none of them apply.

Brightness/Display Mode/Resolution/Upscaling Quality

Even saving and loading the game does not change this, every time the port starts, settings are at default and changing them on the fly does not change them

(Snapdragon 7sGen4 with both system driver and Mr Purple T30)

Can you launch with debug setting and send logs? It has a driver check on startup, then I will look into it

To change the resolution (from auto to 720p or 1080p), I had to modify the args.txt file located in Android/data/com.libertyrecomp/files/args.txt.
Specifically, I updated the following argument:
--gta4_output_height_cap

to:

--gta4_output_height_cap=0

(Note: It seems 720 might be hardcoded as the default value on your end).
This approach might also apply to other parameters, so it is definitely worth experimenting with.
Keep in mind that a full restart of both the app and the game is required for the resolution changes to take effect.
